SUMMARY

Since January 1, 2019, all rental properties in Baltimore must be inspected by a State and City licensed home inspector. Central is your trusted house and rental property inspector in Baltimore and throughout Baltimore County.

The properties must then be registered via the online portal.

FEES

$120 per rental unit. Please contact me for discount pricing for multiple properties.

MFDS (MULTI-FAMILY DWELLINGS)

MFDs were not required to be inspected before2019. Today, however, they are required to be inspected before the current MFD license expires. The city is no longer inspecting MFDs themselves. You must hire a professional State Licensed, Baltimore City approved, home inspection company, like Central Inspections. We offer quick, competitively priced house inspections and rental property inspections in Baltimore.

REQUIREMENTS

In Baltimore City, you need a smoke detector and a carbon monoxide detector on every level of the unit. They do not need to be hardwired, although they can be. If they are not hardwired, they must be outfitted with a 10-year sealed battery. Removable batteries and plug-ins are not allowed.
